Ballet

Cate started Ballet last week and she LOVED it! She had so much fun!

Hair Cut!

I finally cut my hair! I've been wanting to do it for a long time but always chickened out!

I'm so glad I did! Its so much easier to do! I found out I have curly hair! So its fun to do it curly sometimes! The best part is that I'm so much more cool!! My long hair made summertime horrible! I always wore my hair up cause it was just too dang hot to wear it down! Its been a good change!

House Progress

Since I last posted 2 and half months ago we have been super busy and accomplished a lot! Our walls are painted, our tile is in, grout is almost finished, all doors and case are in, most baseboards are in, cabinets are mostly installed, toilets are in most sinks are in, lights are in, outlets and light switches are in, we installed the drip system, landscaping is done, shelves are in and our countertops are on!! Yes, we've been busy! I need to take more pictures though! These are the only recent pictures that I have! Darn!

During this busy time we've run in to some tough complications!

I hurt my hand (can you see the bruising and how swollen it is?)

And hurting my hand put me in this for 2 weeks (if I use it too much my thumb starts clicking and I have to wear it again for a few days). Wearing this made it hard to work, I still did because I want to get done but it was hard and hurt!

We had a few rainy days which was very nice! We desperately needed it! BUT it cause sink holes like this picture below all over our back yards and messed up our retaining wall a bit. So, we've been dealing with that and trying to make it all work!

84 of Laurens tile popped up and so we had to pull the tile up and that was a piece of cake! We just pulled it right out. When we pulled a piece of tile out it left every tiny piece of thin set stuck to the cement so we had to chisel every single piece out! 10 of us were there for 6 hours working as hard as we could! The picture below is Matt towards the end grinding out any leftovers that we missed with a grinder. The whole house was filled with dust we all left looking like chalk!

So, its been hard, overwhelming and busy, sad and I've felt sooo guilty because I've totally neglected my girls and feel like they are missing out on so much because ALL of my concentration is on this house and my mom and sisters life was completely put on hold so that they could help us through this. I can't even begin to say how much they have sacrificed to make this happen for us. We also have kind kind friends willing to watch our kids when my sisters can't AND a friend even tiled our whole house for free. He would come over every day after his full day at his normal job and work a couple hours on our tile till it was done. I can never thank any of you enough! Because of our great family and friends its all been doable and totally worth it!

Our open house is Aug 30th! If we pass all of our inspections we move in that day at 5:01!

We can NOT wait! We are soo happy inside!

Building Progress

We have come a LONG way!!

We have learned and are learning still so much every day and I still can't believe that we are building OUR home!

Yeah, I walk across those and build on the second floor with no floor! Its super scary!

I have to thank my Mom and sisters for putting SO many hours into helping us!!! They help EVERY day by building or babysitting and sometimes both in the same day.

She weighs 16.5.lbs so she's still tiny. I think it because she's running around so much all day!!!

This is in Salt Lake at the City Creek Center. We went up to say goodbye to Adam and made a fun little vacation out of it for a few nights with my family. We had a lot of fun shopping, swimming, and hanging out! The girls had a blast! Grampa spoiled Cate at the Disney store with some princess dolls that she NEVER lets go of! She has become attached to the cinderella doll and Lainey loves Snow White.
